Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire Fanart project.

The idea behind this Fanart was to give the Dagger a more ancient and old vibe. I was a huge fan of the Uldum region back in the day so wanted to capture a bit of that feel.

I modeled this dagger around 2 years ago as part of a livestream and finally decided to finish the handpainted process and get it ready. Modelling and sculpting done in Maya and Zbrush, Uvs are mirrored to save texture space. Bakes done in Substance and initial value creation as well. Finally Handpainted pass and polish in 3DCoat and Photoshop. Final presentation Unlit material in Marmoset Toolbag
